Smile Campaign
Happy Foundations is a non profit charity that help people with their mental health and stress. They are there to help people be happier in normal day to day life and to be happier in general. They want to make a happier society and are committed to helping people in tough time. Happy Foundations aim to decrease the number of cases of mental health issues and helps people get back on track and live a happier life. They aim to support people who are going through tough times and help them through their mental health troubles.
From me they require a tv advert and a print advert there is no time limit from what i can tell but if its to appear on tv I could go up to around thirty seconds or so in order to keep it to the point and not make the audience feel board of watching it. As the company is a charity there budget will be very small or they might not be willing to spend any sort of money on it as it is not a funded organisation. Another problem working with a charity is that they may be busy so may not be able to be contacted if needed to be therefore cant assess any problems I face.
As this company is not operational yet we have to research and see how similar companies are operating with the mental health problems faced in modern society. Companies such as: Mind, Place 2 be and rethink are all charities set up in order to try and combat the rising mental health problems in our modern day communities. In particular, the charity Mind was set up over 70 years ago in 1946 and now it is one of the biggest charities in the uk combatting mental health issues, they offer many services such as: talking therapy, peer support, advocacy, crisis care and employment support. So therefore they cover a lot a bases to help out as many people as they can. On the Mind.or.uk website they have a lot of information on how they help people and say "We believe no one should have to face a mental health problem alone. We'll listen, give you support and advice, and fight your corner." To anyone suffering with mental health issues reading this would fill them with confidence and would make them feel like someone is there to help the out and would empower then, making them feel better.

Another company that helps people with mental health troubles is Place 2 Be. This charity is tailored towards children as 50% of mental health problems happen before the age of 14 therefore this charity is tailored towards the younger generations in order to improve there mental well being before its too late and it turns too serious. This charity help in a number of different ways these consist of: going into schools to offer support to children, they host workshops and training for school staff to help spot problems in the children and also offer counselling training as well. All these things they offer are there in order to stop mental health problems at an early age so they don't get out of hand and become too serious.

From demographics i have found that fifty percent of mental health problems are established by age fourteen and seventy five percent by age twenty four. Ten percent of children and young people (aged 5-16 years) have a clinically diagnosable mental problem yet 70% of children and adolescents who experience mental health problems have not had appropriate interventions at a sufficiently early age. From this i can see teens and young adults suffer the most from stress and mental health issues. And this information shows that the target audience is this age range, therefore the adverts have to be tailored towards this age range which means keeping things simple and being straight to the point. This is so they don't get confused but know that their is help available for them if they need it. This could also be made for people in our own communities. In 2019 there was 5,691 recorded suicides in England and Wales also from statistics i can see that males in the age range 45-49 had the highest age specific suicide rate. From the years 1983 - 2019 the overall recorded suicide death rate has dropped but is currently on the rise again. This shows our target audience is really a mix of all different ages. The help of the statistics for this campaign is that it appeals to more people as it includes real life, true statistics which appeals more to people than if it didn't include any statistics at all.
Due to the rise in coronavirus in 2020 mental health related issues have risen dramatically, this would of been caused by the government implementing a national lockdown on the country. In this lockdown the British public had to stay indoors and only go outside for basic necessities or for exercise other wise risk spreading the virus. As a result of being locked in our homes this caused mental health issues such as stress anxiety and depression to increase within society.
The purpose of the campaigns are to raise awareness for mental health and the impact it and stress have on the younger people in society. Also it raises awareness for the charities that exist to help people who suffer from stress and mental health issues. But it also promotes happiness amongst people in society anyway. This is important because of one hundred and fifty thousand people interviewed in over one hundred and forty countries it is said that at least one in five suffered sadness or anger. From this particular statistic i can tell that this is a massive problem not only in our country but all over the world therefore it is imperative that the advert gets the main point across.
Some research on smiling shows that researchers at the University of Kansas published findings that smiling helps reduce the body's response to stress and lower heart rate in tense situations; another study linked smiling to lower blood pressure, while yet another suggests that smiling leads to longevity. Therefore this concludes that smiling does in fact reduce stress and help keep you calm in tense situations this means this has to be displayed somewhere in the adverts as a means of getting people to believe it. Also this is going to be the main focus point of the advert as this campaign is to get people smiling and making them feel better about them self and about the world in general.
