Video

My initial ideas consist of many cinematic shots in order to show as much of the college as possible, therefore showing the viewer how big the college is and also will also help in showing them all the different buildings that are on site. As the intended audience are people who have either left school or coming back into education the use of music will be paramount in order to keep them interested as well as keeping them watching the video.

From the initial cinematic shots, I would then go on to get video footage of the major rooms in each of the buildings this therefore showcasing the major parts of the college and what it has to offer in terms of facilities. As this is meant to be a short advertisement then the clips can only be of around 20 seconds max to show each of the major rooms or facilities to the audience.

The short film would have a voice over placed over it this is because it is a lot easier to record a voice over than to record the audio live when recording the film. With a voice over you have more control over what is said and can eliminate as much background noise as you want therefore getting crisp, clear audio for the film.

There would also be text added to each clip giving a basic description of where that room is located and what happens in that room. This will help some people out if they did not catch what the voiceover has said. 

Magazine cover

The magazine cover needs to be made to show what the college is about and have a main focus on a topic therefore it can be made in such a way where people are drawn to it. The magazine has to have relative information to what the magazine is about as if the main focus is on something completely different to what the wording says then the people will just walk off. 

Poster

The promotional poster has to show the best bits of the college, this could be the newest part of the college or it could be the part which the students favor the most. This is because if you promoted the college by showcasing the parts which are not the best then people will be turned off from enrolling at the college and will therefore be bad advertising. The main point of he advertising poster is to get people to register interest in the college and then get them to en role. 




Evaluation

Overall I believe the campaign went well and I achieved what i set out to achieve. This is because the video was short, snappy and straight to the point and did not drag out unnecessarily. It showed key things that the college offers which would make students review their decisions on going to another college and consider this one. In the video I showed what each building has to offer from the classrooms in the bede to the media studio in the arts its all there. 

The advertising poster also ticked all the boxes i wanted to tick, it was eye catching, displayed useful information and showed why the college is so great. This would definitely make people consider the college due to all the facts that were displayed. It has a simple but effective design which would catch the reader's attention.


The magazine cover was also another success as this too showed relative information / stories about the college. This would encourage the reader to read the magazine in order to gain even more information about the college. The simple design also gets the points across of what's in the magazine itself this is because the font page isn't too cluttered so everything can be read easily. This is also suited very well to the target audience as it will interest them with the storys and the information telling them what is going on.
